At a very young age, my Grandpa taught me how to work with wood and woodworking tools. He taught me how to respect the power of the tools he used. When I was younger than 10, I was using table saws, hand saws, bandsaws, sanders and more. Tools that could cause serious harm if you don't know how to work with them.
He and I enjoyed spending time together and he felt it was important for me to understand how to use the tools if I was going to spend time in his shop helping him.
Everyday I'm grateful for the time my Grandpa took to spend with me. He taught me so much, but one of them was patience when working with wood and the tools. Today, I create projects to relax. After a long day at work, I relax by working with my hands and trying to find cool things to make.
Why Chadboy?
That's what my Grandpa (and Grandma and mom) have called me since I was a little boy. To some it might sound funny, to me, I love hearing it because when I do, I hear my Grandpas voice in my head. He's no longer with me, but when I'm in my shop, he is right by my side.
I'm passionate about creating beautiful and functional pieces that will last for generations. My journey began as a child when I started crafting toys out of wood with my grandpa. Today, I continue to be inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the satisfaction of creating something that will be cherished for years to come.
I'm committed to using only the finest materials in my woodworking projects. I work with a variety of sustainably sourced woods, carefully selecting each piece for its unique beauty and character. I also use environmentally friendly finishes and techniques to minimize the impact on the planet.
